I'm assigned to help superstar tight end, Duncan Hart, rehab his elbow. With a body that looks like a sculpted masterpiece, his chiseled features melt the hearts of women everywhere, including mine.

There's just one problem. Duncan's an asshole, with an ego the size of a football stadium. He lives for the roar of the crowd. He thrives on it. And he wants to let me experience the Hart attack - yes, he has a name for it. But that's not going to happen. At least, that's what I keep telling myself.

All's fair in love and war, and I have two choices - take him down, or let him score.

Over the Middle is a full-length romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger!

Over the Middle A Sports Romance (Audible Audio Edition) Lauren Landish Emma Lysy Books

I LOVE sports romances and New Adult books so when Over the Middle by Lauren Landish showed up as a recommendation, I immediately purchased it and couldn't wait to get started on it because of course, I was already in the middle of another book! I was delighted to see that not only is this book a sports romance, it's specifically about football which is my favorite sport to watch and since football doesn't start for another few weeks, reading sports romances will have to do. Over the Middle not only satisfied my craving for football and reading, it ended up being a wonderful romance that had me grinning from ear to ear.

"'I need you - I need you for your strength, for your tenderness, for everything that makes you who you are. Because the fight's not over.'"

Duncan Hart is Western University's star tight end who plans to enter the draft next year and is a major player. There are many stories around campus about his talents and he's pretty proud of himself for them. He's extremely cocky and shows little respect for anyone, even his coaches. He recently had surgery on his elbow and needs one of the student trainers to help him with his rehab. Duncan gets to work with Carrie Mittel, a junior kinesiology major who is interning with the training staff. Carrie is a former athlete herself but had an injury that prevented her from playing at the college level so she loves that she can still be a part of the athletic scene. She starts working with Duncan and very quickly, he has a change of heart that has him more focused on training and acting more mature during games. Others start to notice that Carrie is a great influence on Duncan and the two can no longer deny their feelings for each other. Just when Duncan and Carrie get settled in their relationship, trouble comes out of nowhere, which leads to a surprising turn of events.

"'Because I love her. Because I need to be a good man for her. A good man...he'd go out and fight with his team.'"

I'm a huge fan of happily ever afters and romances that make my heart melt so I loved this book. I love that the characters are very normal people with real problems who turn to each other when they need someone. The love between the two of them made me so happy that I had to buy Blitzed and Rushed, two of Lauren Landish's other books that contain some of the same characters. The author really knows football because there is a good amount of detail about the game itself and I love it when authors really know about what they are writing. Some sports romances lean more towards either the sports or romance side but I feel Over the Middle contains about 50% sports and 50% romance, which made me very happy! There is some profanity but I don't feel there is so much that it takes away from the story. If you enjoy sports romances, particularly ones about football, I highly recommend Over the Middle and I am looking forward to reading the other books by Lauren Landish that I just purchased!

Over the Middle A Sports Romance (Audible Audio Edition) Lauren Landish Emma Lysy Books Reviews

Over the Middle by Lauren Landish....This was a fun entertaining romance sports story with great characters. Duncan a hot football players that is a man whore and wants Carrie, but she does not want him. He is chasing her, but will he catch her, you will have to read it to find out. Lauren Landish has won me over with her writing style that captivates the reader, I can't wait to read more by her. I was given a complimentary book in exchange for an honest review.
Duncan is a player on and off the field. He doesn't do relationships. He has had everything handed to him and his attitude is that of a spoiled rich boy in a man's body. Recovering from a elbow injury he meets Carrie. She has worked for everything she has. She's heard the rumors. She even has seen first hand how he can be. She has received warning to keep things professional. She soon learns there might be more than meets the eye when it comes to Duncan.
This book was amazing. There are so many thoughts going through my head to say about Duncan and Carrie but it would give you the whole book. You won't regret one-clicking this!
I absolutely loved this book. It wasn't just a romance but it had a lot going on. Carrie is this smart and beautiful woman who is going to College to be a trainer. She gets the offer of a lifetime!e and has an internship in the althetic department helping the teams. When the coach asks her to help the star football player with his elbow rehab, she says yes. But keeping her heart out of the training is another thing all together.
Duncan is the star on the football field and a man slut off the field. He is sexy and he knows it. He has definitely meet his match in Carrie. She doesn't immediately fall to feet nor does she back down. She pushes him to want to be a better man. He can feel himself changing off and on the field.
As their relationship grows so does the bond they feel for one another.
I loved this book, its filled with love and intrique.
Loved Duncan & Carrie. Duncan is like a lot of male lead characters that in romance sport stories....cocky & a bit of a man who are. Like a lot of heroines in romance stories, Carrie is the gal that turns him around....with patience & a some work. But, what I liked about Carrie is that she wasn't a petite, skinny chick. She was taller & had curves....and healthy. Love that Duncan liked that about her.....those "Barbie" chicks are not always kind on the inside.
Anyway, loved how they formed a "team" together to handle the storms they faced.
You won't be disappointed by this one.
From the other characters in the book, we get a pretty good idea of what this "football hero" is going to be like a pompous jerk is nicer than what most of them call him. And that's actually pretty close to the truth - at least, at first. But as the story goes on, you begin to see why Duncan is the way he is no mother, and a father who doesn't have time or any interest in him. Going pro when he graduates is his only dream, and any more serious injuries will put an end to any of his big dreams. Carrie is his trainer and an intern in the rehab program. She's only a junior, but she's proved herself first rate to the coach. That's how she gets the job of putting Duncan through his paces, which also means everyone sees how much Duncan has improved since she took over, And once Duncan himself realizes how much better he is, his attitude changes, and they begin to work as a team. Before I quit laughing at their antics, I realized we had a real romance blooming here, and I found myself hoping their love could make it, in spite of the obstacles in their path. It's a very satisfying read, and. before I forget, about halfway through the book, this story ends and the author gifts us with another of her great reads, Relentless, Book 1 in her Bertoli Crime Family series. Icing to the cake!
